The title seems melodramatic, but realistically, it’s true. Evangelicalism, as both a movement and as a word interchangeable with Christianity, is dead. There are still Christians in America, and even some within Evangelicalism, but by and large, the idea of a Christian America where everyone at least had some knowledge of the Scriptures is over.
The survey consisted of thirty-five statements, that the respondents were asked to agree or disagree with either strongly or somewhat. “I don’t know” was also an option. The sample size of people who actually attend Evangelical churches was a mere 573 of the three thousand people who took the survey so it is not as good as it could be. However, before getting into the bad news, there is some good news.
