Moral Insanity

I have touched on the issue of transgenderism previously and warned that it would only get worse. With a recent decision in an Ohio court case, it has now gotten to that point.  We have reached a level of moral insanity which is unprecedented in the history of western culture. This article will discuss the case in Ohio but will largely be focused on the big picture implications and how origins plays into the decisions.

For anyone who might not be aware, a recent decision by an Ohio county judge removed a seventeen-year-old girl who wants to be a boy from her parent’s custody. The stated reason was that the parents were unwilling to comply with the medical procedures necessary to help her transition, including giving her male hormones and calling her by her newly chosen male name. The girl claimed that her parents’ lack of support was making her suicidal. The court placed her in the custody of one of her sets of grandparents who are supportive of her decision to attempt to change the gender she was born to. The judge did grant the parents visiting rights but the grandparents will have the right to make all medical decisions for the child going forward, as well as officially change her name on all legal documents. The attorneys for the state claimed that a large part of the parents’ disagreement came from their open Christian faith, which, the state argued, should prevent qualified doctors from making decisions regarding healthcare.

However, even someone who does not follow politics should see the obvious implications of this case. Essentially the humanist atheist religion has convinced the courts that a minor, without legal standing, can be removed from her parents simply because they don’t think she is transgender. The government now has final say over the welfare of a child, not the parents.  This has always been the goal of atheistic governments. In rejecting their creator, they also reject His precepts. “And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7 tells us. God commanded the parents to teach their children the things of God and the proper way to live.  As with everything else, atheism attempts to run as far away from God’s way as it can. This has led to the disaster we find ourselves in today.

Origins played a massive role in this decision, even if it was not referenced openly. The theory of evolution has destroyed a belief in absolute right and wrong.  By destroying this belief, moral beliefs, such as there being just two genders, and parental authority, suddenly have no foundation. The foundation of both came from something outside of man. It came from God, Who is higher and more powerful than man and thus has the authority to set rules man must follow. Once God is removed from the equation, the moral laws He imposed on His creation no longer have anything to stand on, beyond the weight of societal opinion. As the transgenderism issue shows, this can change rapidly.  With no foundation, morals quickly shrink and fade away. Once the morals are gone, anything goes, including taking a child away from her parents for no other reason than her parents objected to her wanting to be a boy, a phenomena that, until recently, was classed as a mental disorder. By abandoning creation, evolutionists opened Pandora’s box. If there is no creator, there is no absolute authority, and everything, including transgenderism and marrying trees, is fair game.

If nothing else, this recent court decision illustrates the importance of educating the church and our children about origins. If generations past had stood firm on God’s word, and not invited false doctrine into the church regarding the origin of the universe, perhaps we would not be in the mess we are. However, Christians today are no better, inviting the world in to run the church and accepting false teaching without question so we cannot be too harsh on those who came before. Instead, we must take the responsibility to combat the moral insanity spreading across this land like a vile plague, with the Word of God.  Only the Scriptures have the answer to the emptiness in man’s heart that leads to the massive scream for attention that transgenderism is.
