Some of you are well aware how we at In His Image feel about the woke stuff going on in our culture. If you don’t, I’d recommend going back through our feed and reading some of our articles and podcasts where we have savaged the new woke religion. However, one thing I don’t think we have directly addressed is the ultimate end of the woke ideology in the culture: racism.
For example, consider the most recent example, a book of “prayers” being sold at Target no less. The book, entitled “A Rhythm of Prayer”. The particular chapter that has caught the public eye was written by Dr. Chanequa Walker-Barnes, a “black” “theologian” who works for Mercer University. The “prayer” starts off as follows “Dear God, please help me to hate White people”. While that may sound shocking to you, it does not shock me at all. This has been expected for a while. Of course, this pagan doesn’t mean all “white” people, though she does rant against other groups of “whites”. No she defines exactly what she means.
“My prayer is that you would help me hate the other White people – you know, the nice ones. The Fox News-loving, Trump-supporting voters who ‘don’t see color’ but who make thinly-veiled racist comments about ‘those people.’ The people who are happy to have me over for dinner but alert the neighborhood watch anytime an unrecognized person of color passes their house. The people who welcome Black people in their churches and small groups but brand us heretics if we suggest that Christianity is concerned with the poor and the oppressed. The people who politely tell us that we can leave we we call out the racial microaggressions we experience in their ministries.”
Translation, she wants to hate Biblically faithful, conservative, family “white” people. Again, don’t be shocked, this was expected. And don’t expect it to stop there. Let me introduce you to South Africa which has been woke for a long time.
A little history is needed. At the end of WWII, the South African government began what has been known as apartheid. It started out with a few laws and more were added as time went on. It basically segregated society along evolutionary lines: “whites” were at the top and “blacks” were at the bottom with other “races” in the middle. This policy persisted until the 1990s. It was a godless, needless, stupid policy.
However, while being anti-apartheid is a good thing, the anti-apartheid movement was infiltrated by Communists like Nelson Mandela. When Mandela took power, and since, racism has rapidly shifted the other direction. Quickly “white” people became objects of scorn, hatred, death threats, and violent crimes. The courts were not interested in that, but if you spoke a racist word against a “black” you could spend time in jail and be fined several years income. Then, using much the same logic the rioters and looters….and evangelical Christians, are using to demand reparations, the South African government seized the land of “white” farmers and redistributed it to “blacks”. In simple English they took from “whites” to make up for historical injustices to “blacks”. Sound like Marxism yet?
Welcome to America 2021 now, where even Christian publications demand we pay reparations to “blacks” because of historical injustices. Spoiler….not in the Bible anywhere. The head of a major fast-food chain shines the shoes of a “Christian rapper” to show solidarity. That’s not enough the rapper says. He wants stock…ie money. Redistribution of wealth from “whites” to “blacks”. This is Marxist South Africa all over again.
This is not a “racial” issue folks. It is a Marxist vrs capitalist issue. The leaders of the Black Lives Matter Movement openly admit to being trained Marxists (video below). They don’t want to coexist with “white” people, they want to openly dominate. There is no tolerance with the woke left. There is only compliance.
If you expect this racism to not permeate the church, you haven’t been paying attention. It is currently being swallowed whole by the Evangelical church. If you accept the woke ideology, you automatically read race into everything. Worse, you are primed to accept this claim from Dr. Walker-Barnes “Let me see them as hopelessly unrepentant, reprobate bigots who have blasphemed the Holy Spirit and who need to be handed over to the evil one.” In other words, racism is an unforgivable sin. If that’s true, Dr. Walker-Barnes should be in mortal terror for her soul. Because she is the real racist here. And the government and the church are going to force this on you.
